Gold Plated Diapers - May 13th, 2007, 2:56 PM
We've been busy this past week in sunny California.
Have we mentioned how much we're all loving it out
here? Not only did we get all the basic tracking done
for the album last week, but we also had multiple
celebrity sightings. Getting off the plane returning
from our wonderful weekend in New Jersey playing at
Bamboozle, we saw a guy walking through the parking
garage that at first sight looked like a pimp. After a
close look we realized it wasn't a pimp at all...it
was the famous rapper Flava Flav wearing an orange
suit and his signature giant clock around his neck!
Okay, maybe he is a pimp. We couldn't help but laugh
at the randomness and the fact that he looked exactly
how we thought he would in person. The celebrity
sightings didn't stop there though. While in the
studio last week we got word that Entourage was being
filmed down the street in Hollywood. We all love the
show, so Mike and Brandon decided to go check it out
and ended up meeting (well, more like stalking) four
of the cast members and getting some video as well.
Being from Chicago we're not used to seeing
celebrities all the time, so needless to say we were
all really geeking out. You'll have to see the footage
to believe who they got on film. We promise to have it
up fairly soon.
The recording process is cruisin' along even faster
than anticipated. We finished all the drums, rhythm
guitars, and bass in just a week. Everything is
sounding amazing so far! Chris our drummer also can't
talking about how he got to use the same snare drum
Dave Groul used on Nevermind. Ha. Our producer Jim
Wirt is the easiest, most laid back guy in the world
to work with. He really knows how to make a band sound
like a real band. Our biggest fear as a band is to
have somebody come in and completely change the way we
sound. It has never been Jim's intention to do that
because he already likes our music. What he's been
doing instead is trying to capture our sound better
than anyone else ever has. So far he's been doing just
that. He's also really focusing on the melodies of our
songs to make them they can be. This week we'll be
finishing up guitar stuff and most likely starting
vocals. We'll be keeping you updated.
Greetings from Sunny California - April 25th, 2007, 9:34 AM
It's been quite a week. We started our trip this past Saturday morning at 3:00 a.m. and drove to Geneseo, NY for a huge college show of almost 3000 people at Geneseo University. We played with Jack's Mannequin and Augustana and it was awesome. The next day, we played with Jack's Mannequin and Cartel at Keene State College in New Hampshire. It was the last show of Jack's Mannequin's college tour and we had a blast onstage. After the show, a not-so-awesome person stole one of my guitars out of its case from an offstage area supposedly guarded by security. If anyone sees a 1995 blue sunburst Fender Strat on ebay that just went up this week it might be mine. Seriously, who steals guitars? That is really lame and I was disappointed to find myself fantasizing about all the ways I would physically hurt this person if I had caught them in the act of stealing my high school graduation gift.
On Monday, Mike and I flew to L.A. and settled in at our rental house in Venice Beach. It is amazing and we will post pictures soon. Right now we are waiting for the rest of the band to get here with the van and gear. They are probably in Vegas right now at the craps table. We started preproduction yesterday with our producer Jim Wirt and Andrew McMahon and so far everything is going well! We will be posting video blogs and such on our Q101.com/TOP page and on our Myspace page.
That's all for now. Keep your guitars locked up and get gear insurance.

Photos and Video from Iowa City - April 12th, 2007, 12:19 PM
We played a really fun show last night in Iowa City with Jack's Mannequin. It was a blast playing to such a great crowd who worked really hard (10 hours of community service for a ticket) to get in. The Daily Iowan posted a review, photos and video of the show on their website.

Good news/Bad news - April 5th, 2007, 11:34 AM
We are leaving on April 23rd to start recording our debut album in California! Unfortunately we will no longer be playing with The Hush Sound on April 28th in Ripon, WI. We were really looking forward to this show but duty calls.
We also added another show with Jack's Mannequin in New York! Sweet!

Breaking The Band - March 19th, 2007, 2:41 PM
Head over to Q101.com/TOP to check out Breaking The Band, which we will be updating weekly with new blogs, pictures, demos and especially videos of our adventures on the road, at home and in the studio as we prepare to record our new album this spring. Thanks a lot to Q101 and Verizon Wireless for helping us out!
We are fresh off our SXSW showcases and are making our way back home by way of shows in Missouri, Kansas, Minnesota, Iowa and DeKalb, IL. We are going to keep adding more tourdates in April as we get ready to make our debut album in sunny California in May!
Next month, we are going to re-release some tracks from both of our EPs along with some new songs as well. We're hoping it will get all of our current fans excited about what's to come and also serve as an introduction of sorts to people who are just discovering all things Treaty. Be on the lookout for that as well as some fresh new merch designs just in time for spring. Busy busy busy over here as usual...
