I watched the movie Psycho for the first time last night. It’s true! I have never seen it before, even though like everyone else, I have seen the famous shower scene and I was aware of the schizophrenic plot twist before watching.

It made me wonder how many people take the time to watch old classic movies, read classic books or listen to classic albums and songs when we are constantly bombarded with new movies, music, books and TV shows at all times.

If you regularly spend some time watching movies, TV shows, reading or listening to music, change things up every now and then. It’s fun to rediscover something that was created a long time ago.

We have been practicing for our show next week in Chicago. The venue wants us to play a longer set so we went right to work: Tightening up the new songs, dusting off the old ones, maybe even relearning a cover song or two. All in all, I think we have something like a 17-song set planned.

After last night’s practice, one thing was clear to me: Standing for hours on end with an 8 lb guitar hanging off of me for a few days straight has made me feel very thankful for Icy Hot! I don’t know how jam bands can play for so long every night and still be able to get out of bed. Those guys must have suitcases full of Tiger Balm. Come out to our Mardi Gras show at Mother’s on Tuesday 2/16 and see the leaner, meaner TOP. Then, someone drive me to the chiropractor. I will need some adjustin’! – Dan

Today is Day 3 of this weeks practice schedule, been going great the first 2 nights. We have a couple home shows coming up in February and then in March we start out a run of shows with SXSW, very excited to get back to Austin…and Best Wurst! Check out the tour page for all up coming dates!
